SG-Wgw2 IP65 voice sounder

The SG-Wgw2 IP65 voice alarm device is a universal device destined for a wide range of applications, for burglar alarm systems, automatic systems and for other applications which require a non-standard alarm signal that cannot be managed by any other standards. The device can be used in places with an increased degree of pollution, as well as in production lines, where it is required to wash machines after the production cycle.

Description

Use

The SG-Wgw2 IP65 voice sounder is a universal, programmable, internal signalling device with the option of uploading your own voice messages. It can be used in many areas requiring a non-standard sound pattern (alarm sequence), e.g.:

  • burglar alarm systems,
  • automation systems,
  • technical facilities,
  • stores (announcing siren triggered e.g. by a motion detector).

The device can be used in places with an increased degree of pollution. An example of application can be production lines where it is required to “wash machines” after the cycle, e.g. slaughterhouses.

Construction

The SG-Wgw2 IP65 housing consists of two parts connected with each other with stainless steel screws. Between them there is a polyurethane gasket. In the front part of the housing there is a waterproof broadband speaker with a grille. An electronics board is attached to the rear part of the housing. A gland is used to insert the cable into the housing. A characteristic feature of the housing is a high degree of protection IP65 and mechanical resistance IK07.

The voice sounder plays *.mp3 files. The selection of the file to be played consists of supplying power to the appropriate siren connectors (+1, +2, TRIG), or depending on the operating mode, the messages are played sequentially or in random order. Files with messages to be played must always be named K1.mp3, K2.mp3… K6.mp3. If the configuration file does not contain the sequence description for a given state of inputs, the device will try to play the *.mp3 file whose name corresponds to the selected state of inputs. If the sequence has been defined, playback will start as described in the configuration file.

The SG-Wgw2 IP65 voice sounder offers the user the ability to play up to six voice messages (depending on the configuration) with an acoustic warning signal (1 out of 33 sound patterns). The programming of the sequences is carried out independently. The user can define: the pattern of the acoustic warning signal, pause 1, voice message, pause 2.

Additionally, the user has at his disposal the TRIG input (active after feeding supply voltage). Depending on the configuration, it can work as an input: triggering a message, silencing a message or an additional address input. In the case of the number of messages from 1 to 3, the TRIG input can work as a triggering or silencing input, while in the case of six messages, the TRIG input works as an additional address input. Using the TRIG input as a silencing input, active state at the input (momentary or permanent short to supply voltage) silences the siren as well as the entire network connected to it.

Varieties

The SG-Wgw2 IP65 voice sounder is also available in the SG-Wgw2 version (standard housing).

Opening

In order to open the siren: remove 4 screws connecting the housing, then remove the base with the electronics from the part where the loudspeaker is located.

Closing

In order to close the device, fit the part with electronics and the part with the loudspeaker together, then assemble the signaling device. Tighten the 4 screws that connect the housing.

Control – devices network

SG-Wgw2 IP65 voice sounder can work in a network. Devices that are to be synchronized with each other should be connected with additional conductors marked as SA and SB. Only one device in the network should be set as MASTER, the rest as SLAVE. At the beginning and end of the line, 120 Ω resistors connected in parallel between SA and SB terminals should be used.A i SB.

Programming

It is recommended to use the USB cable for alarm devices.

When connected to a computer, the device is detected as a standard USB stick. In order to enable communication with the computer, the external power supply must not be supplied to the sounder. If the USB is already connected and external power is supplied, the device remains in the USB mode, otherwise (external power connected and then USB connected) the sounder will not be detected by the computer, nor will it interrupt the current signaling process.

The SG-Wgw2 IP65 voice sounder can operate in one of five modes:

  • as device with six voice annoucements (Mode:ADDR)
  • as device with mute option WSD (Mode:WSD)
  • as device with triggering option TRIG (Mode:TRIG)
  • as announcement device with message queue (Mode:QUEUE)
  • as announcement device with message randomized (Mode:RANDOM)

Depending on the selected operating mode, the sounder control method changes.

In order to configure the sequence (i.e. alarm playback, then a message with specific pauses), a line containing a sequence definition in the following format should be placed in the configuration file:

SEQ:#n. A:#a. C:#c. K:#k. P1:#p. P2:#q

  • #n- sequence number, from 1 to 6
  • #a- alarm number, from 0 to 32
  • #c- number of alarm cycles, 0 illegal value
  • #k- message number in sequence 1 to 6 (K1.mp3 files. K6.mp3)
  • #p- duration of the pause between the alarm and the message (*100 ms)
  • #q- time between successive playbacks of the sequence (*100 ms)

Example: seq:2. A:9. c:2. k:2. p1:10. p2:20 means: sequence 2: alarm no. 9 will be played 2x, then pause 1s (10*100ms), then message no. 2, pause between sequences 2s.

Notice If 0 (zero) is selected as the message number, a sequence with no message and only the alarm and pauses will be created.

FAQ

SG-Wgw2 IP65 voice sounder / Find out the most frequently asked questions and answers about this product

Your questions, our answers: Whether you are a new user or a regular customer, our answer database contains a wealth of information to help you better understand our products. Discover the answers curated by our experts.

Where can I find a description of the available annoucements?

The content of annoucements is described in the Operation and Maintenance Manual (O&M) and the product leaflet. Additionally, the content of voice messages for certified alarms is also included in the Certificate of Approval issued for the product by CNBOP-PIB.

Can voice sounders can be used as a bell (single trigger)?

The SG-Wgw2, SG-Wgw2 IP65 device has a working mode of an alarm device with a trigger (an announcement alarm device). In this working mode the alarm device needs a voltage supply and additionally a trigger signal. Upon providing voltage supply the alarm device is in the stand-by state waiting for a trigger impulse. As soon as the alarm device receives an impulse it emits an announcement, then is back in the stand-by state waiting for another trigger impulse. However, it is not possible to emit a single…

What programmes can be used during creating a voice announcement?

It is advisable to use a speech synthesizer to create recordings, an example of such a synthesizer is the IVONA synthesizer available on the website www.ivo.pl . After registering you can create and download your own announcements. A user can replace a text with an acoustic signal - file*.wav. a received acoustic file can be uploaded in an alarm device as a sound copy a file in a digital form to the device.

What cable should be used to program voice sounders?

To program the voice sounders, use a USB A/micro USB cable. After connecting the cable to a PC or laptop, the siren will be detected as mass storage.

Notice!

The cable used should have a data transmission function (some cables can only be used for charging). You will find a suitable cable in our offer.

How many wires should be connected to trigger 1 message?

To trigger 1 message it is only needed to connect 2 wires. If there is a need to synchronize several signaling devices, connect the system according to the scheme available in the product description.

When is synchronization required to be used between voice sounders?

Synchronization is required when sounding corridors, rooms in which two or more alarm devices may work at the same time, for example, sounding of hotel corridors. Alarm devices should be synchronized within one level whereas levels do not need to be synchronized. In case of lack of synchronization of alarm devices, an emitted announcement may be incomprehensible as a result of different starting times of emission of announcements by alarm devices.
