SA-K5N SOUNDER FOR FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS HOLDS DOCUMENTS ISSUED BY THE CNBOP-PIB:
- CPR CERTIFICATE NO. 1438-CPR-0307
- CERTIFICATE OF ADMITTANCE NO. 3125/2018
Use:
The SA-K5N sounder is intended for signalling of fire inside buildings.
Construction:
The signalling device is equipped with housing made of non-combustible material, enclosing electronic components. Acoustic signals are generated by means of piezoceramic transducer, located inside the housing. The cover of SA-K5N signalling devices holds supply block, WSD switch block and micro switch, by means of which operating mode of the signalling device, as well as acoustic signal type can be selected.
Operating principle of the signalling device:
The SA-K5N sounder begins to generate acoustic signal according to a pattern selected after supply voltage has been connected. Intensity of the acoustic signal depends on position of volume adjusting potentiometer. Depending on setting of the micro switch located within housing of the signalling device, selection of one out of four sonic signals is possible. Volume adjustment range varies within range of approx. 70 dB @ 1 m to >100 dB @ 1m.
Creation of signalling devices network in a synchronous operation:
SA-K5N enables creation of synchronously operating signalling devices network. Synchronization of signalling devices takes place with use of additional line (S terminal of signalling device). During creation of synchronously operating networks one should remember about proper configuration of signalling devices operating mode. Only one master device, the remaining signaling devices operate in slave mode. In case of co-operation with WSD-1 switch, the switch connected to “slave” signallig device turns off single signalling device. While the WSD-1 connected to a “master” signalling devices turns off the whole network of signalling devices. The switch is connected directly to signalling device, routing of separate wires supplying the switch is not required.
SA-K5N low current sounder also enables linear increasing of volume. Depending on setting of a potentiometer, the ramp up time falls within range of 0 to 25.6 s.
It is necessary to configure mode of signalling device operation prior to proceeding with creating a network of signalling devices. There is four-position micro switch located in the cover of signalling device, which when moved from M/S position to ON position, sets “master” operating mode. When the “OFF” position sets the “slave” operating mode.
Only one “master” signalling device is allowed in any network, which is responsible for generating of synchronization pulses. The remaining signalling devices must be set to “slave” operating mode. Improper setting of operating mode will result in improper operation of signalling devices’ network.
Installation recommendations:
SA-K5N series signalling devices should be connected to Fire Alarming System by means of junction boxes featuring fire resistance (PIP-3AN is recommended). The junction box should be mounted to a ceilling / wall, which should also have required fire resistance. In the case when for aesthetic reasons installation of signalling device directly on PIP-3AN junction box is impossible, it is admissible to install a signalling device on substrate that does not have required fire resistance, however the junction box must be mounted on substrate having required fire resistance. (e.g. a situation, in which a PIP-3AN junction box is mounted to a ceiling having E90 fire resistance, while the SA-K5N signalling device is mounted on a suspended ceiling).
Opening:
To open the signalling device: screw out the screw locking the base, turn the shade anticlockwise while holding the base, then separate the shade and the base.
Closing:
To close the signalling device: fit together the markers. After that put together the device and turn in the direction marked with an arrow (the sequence in the drawing). On closing, lock the base by screwing in the locking screw.
