SG-Wgw voice alarm device

Use:

The SG-Wgw voice alarm device is a universal device destined for a wide range of applications, for burglar alarm systems, automatics systems and for other applications which require a non-standard alarm signal that cannot be managed by any other standards. The SG-Wgw voice alarm device is intended to be used indoors.

The SG-Wgws version is also available (repeating beacon – receives and amplifies the signal sent from SG-Wgw, programming is not possible).


Construction:

The SG-Wgw signaling device consists of two parts, the first of which is the actual signaling device in a housing made of white plastic. It includes terminals for connecting the supply voltage, outputs for connecting the SG-Wgws signaling devices, potentiometer, LED indicator and a microSD card slot. The second part – the base – is an element that attaches the signaling device to the ceiling or wall.

Alarm device can emit to six voice announcements of the total duration of 65 s, optionally completed with an acoustic alarm signal of the total duration of up to 60 s. A loudspeaker was used as the source of sound. By default, the siren has 6 messages pre-loaded, the content of which can be found in the MESSAGES section.

In case you need to program your own sequences, you can do it as follows. The emitted announcements are downloaded from an microSD card to the device internal memory (a file created by means of an “SG-Wgw PC Software v2.0” configuration program available after logging in the CLIENT ZONE in downloadable files). A more detailed description of programming can be found in the ADDITIONAL section.

Additionally, there is a TRIG input to release an announcement, operating also as an address input or to turn down the alarm device (depending on configuration). The deice configuration is performed by means of the “SG” configuration program. Optionally, the alarm device is equipped with an anti-sabotage element which hinders removing the alarm device.

The SG-Wgw voice alarm device collaborates with “repetitive” SG-Wgws alarm devices, what is particularly useful in case of providing long corridors or bigger facilities with sounding.


Possibilities provided by SG-Wgw alarm devices:

The SG-Wgw alarm device can emit to six voice announcements (depending on configuration) with an acoustic alarm signal (1 of 35 patterns). Each sequence is programmed independently. An alarm device operation sequence is presented in the drawing below. By means of the SG configuration program the user can define the duration of: an acoustic alarm signal, intermission 1, a voice announcement, intermission 2.

Additionally, there is a TRIG input (active low) in an SG-Wgw alarm device, which can operate as an input which: releases an announcement, turns down an announcement or releases an additional address input depending on configuration. If there are from 1 to 3 announcements, an input TRIG can operate as an input which releases or mute (an “SG” configuration program), whereas in case of six announcements input TRIG operates as an additional address input. If an input TRIG is used as a turning down input, then the active state on the input (active low continuous or pulse) mute the alarm device and the all devices network connected to it.

The alarm device also have a potentiometer placed in the shade which enables a volume adjustment and a LED diode which signals the process of copying sound from an microSD card to inside memory of the device.

Attention!

Regulation of sound level output works locally (only with one sounder), it means if user will change sound level output in SG-Wgw sounder, sound level of all devices in network will not change.


Opening:

To open the alarm device you should: twist the shade to the left while holding the base, then move apart the shade and the base.

Closing:

To close the alarm device you should adjust the markers, then assemble the device and twist it to the direction marked with an arrow (sequence shown in the drawing).

Range of applications:

The SG-Wgw alarm device is perfect to be used in:

  • burglar, fire or gas alarm systems;
  • automatic systems;
  • technical objects;
  • stores as an announcement alarm device (placed over an entrance and collaborating with a motion detector);
  • other applications which require emitting non-standard sounds.

Examples of non-standard applications of the SG-Wgw alarm device:

One of more interesting examples of using the alarm device is application in shops. The alarm device enables generating an announcement released by a particular event, which in case of a shop is detecting a person by a motion sensor placed over an entrance. Connecting the motion sensor transmitter to the input TRIG triggers an announcement. To avoid a cyclic triggering of the alarm device, a user may establish the time of an intermission to the next announcement (the state of input TRIG is ignored during an intermission).

Another application of the SG-Wgw alarm device is emission of non-standard signals. When a user has to use a non-standard signal, all you have to do is open a configuration file with a selected signal, then copy the content of the card to the alarm device. The user may establish the duration of a siren and intermission 1 and intermission 2 by means of the configuration program. If intermission is switched off the user obtains the effect of continuous emission of the signal. The SG-Wgw alarm device may be also used to signal the operating state of a machine. Voice signalling of the machine operating state can be performed by clamping inputs +1, +2, TRIG to supply earth voltage or to power supply, the user has the possibility of emitting six announcements by appropriate clamping.

Programming the alarm device:

Upon correct assembly of the alarm device you should place the microSD card (with a file from “SG” configuration program) in the device slot. Then you should provide power supply, next the device starts copying files from the microSD card to internal memory. The beginning of the copying process is signalled by the voice announcement: “Kopiowanie” and turn on red LED diode. The accomplishment of copying is signalled by the announcement: “Kopiowanie zakończone”. After copying accomplishment the alarm device starts emitting all programmed alarm sequences subsequently. When copying is accomplished you should remove the microSD card from the slot. Providing supply voltage again makes the alarm device operate normally.
