The calculator makes it possible to calculate the voltage drop on copper or aluminum power cables under room conditions (ambient temperature of 20°C) as well as under fire conditions (including the temperature rise over time).
The value of the voltage drop depends mainly on the material from which the conductor is made, the cross-sectional area, the length of the conductor, and the current drawn by the loads.
Additionally, under fire conditions, as the temperature increases, the resistance of the conductor also increases, which results in a higher voltage drop.
In fire protection systems, cables with copper conductors are used.
The resistance and voltage drop are calculated for two conductors, i.e., for the positive (+) and negative (–) supply poles.
It should be remembered that the presented calculations are for illustrative purposes, and the results may differ from the values obtained under real conditions (despite every effort being made, it cannot be guaranteed that the results will be reliable under all circumstances).
