SG-Wgw2 voice sounder

Use:

The SG-Wgw2 voice sounder is a universal, programmable, internal signalling device with the option of uploading your own voice messages. It can be used in many areas requiring a non-standard sound pattern (alarm sequence), e.g.:

  • burglar alarm systems,
  • automation systems,
  • technical facilities,
  • stores (announcing siren triggered e.g. by a motion detector).

Construction:

The SG-Wgw2 voice sounder consists of two parts, the first of which is the actual device in a housing made of plastic. It includes terminals for connecting the supply voltage, synchronization, a potentiometer and a microUSB socket. The second part – the base – is an element that fastens the device to the ceiling or wall.

The voice sounder plays *.mp3 files. The selection of the file to be played consists of supplying power to the appropriate siren connectors (+1, +2, TRIG), or depending on the operating mode, the messages are played sequentially or in random order. Files with messages to be played must always be named K1.mp3, K2.mp3… K6.mp3. If the configuration file does not contain the sequence description for a given state of inputs, the device will try to play the *.mp3 file whose name corresponds to the selected state of inputs. If the sequence has been defined, playback will start as described in the configuration file.

The SG-Wgw2 voice sounder offers the user the ability to play up to six voice messages (depending on the configuration) with an acoustic warning signal (1 out of 33 sound patterns). The programming of the sequences is carried out independently. The user can define: the pattern of the acoustic warning signal, pause 1, voice message, pause 2.

Additionally, the user has at his disposal the TRIG input (active after feeding supply voltage). Depending on the configuration, it can work as an input: triggering a message, silencing a message or an additional address input. In the case of the number of messages from 1 to 3, the TRIG input can work as a triggering or silencing input, while in the case of six messages, the TRIG input works as an additional address input. Using the TRIG input as a silencing input, active state at the input (momentary or permanent short to supply voltage) silences the siren as well as the entire network connected to it.

Varieties:

The SG-Wgw2 voice sounder is also available in the SG-Wgw2 IP65 version with a reinforced housing with IP65 protection and IK07 mechanical resistance.

Opening:

To open the alarm device you should: screw out the blocking screw, twist the shade to the left while holding the base, then move apart the shade and the base.

Closing:

To close the alarm device adjust the markers, then assemble the device and twist it to the direction marked with an arrow (sequence shown in the drawing). After closing, screw in the blocking screw.

Installation recomendation:

All assembly work must be carried out in accordance with the health and safety rules.

Control:

Connecting the supply voltage to the terminals triggers the generation of the appropriate alarm and the output signal according to the programmed settings.

ATTENTION! The way the device works depends on the selected operating mode!

Control – devices network:

SG-Wgw2 voice sounder can work in a network. Devices that are to be synchronized with each other should be connected with additional conductors marked as SA and SB. Only one device in the network should be set as MASTER, the rest as SLAVE. At the beginning and end of the line, 120 Ω resistors connected in parallel between SA and SB terminals should be used.

Programming:

It is recommended to use the USB cable for alarm devices.

When connected to a computer, the device is detected as a standard USB stick. In order to enable communication with the computer, the external power supply must not be supplied to the sounder. If the USB is already connected and external power is supplied, the device remains in the USB mode, otherwise (external power connected and then USB connected) the sounder will not be detected by the computer, nor will it interrupt the current signaling process.

The SG-Wgw2 voice sounder can operate in one of five modes:

  • as device with six voice annoucements (Mode:ADDR)
  • as device with mute option WSD (Mode:WSD)
  • as device with triggering option TRIG (Mode:TRIG)
  • as announcement device with message queue (Mode:QUEUE)
  • as announcement device with message randomized (Mode:RANDOM)

Depending on the selected operating mode, the sounder control method changes.

In order to configure the sequence (i.e. alarm playback, then a message with specific pauses), a line containing a sequence definition in the following format should be placed in the configuration file:

SEQ:#n. A:#a. C:#c. C:#k. Q1:#p. P2:#q

#n- sequence number, from 1 to 6
#a- alarm number, from 0 to 32
#c- number of alarm cycles, 0 illegal value
#k- message number in sequence 1 to 6 (K1.mp3 files. K6.mp3)
#p- duration of the pause between the alarm and the message (*100 ms)
#q- time between successive playbacks of the sequence (*100 ms)

Example: seq:2. A:9. c:2. k:2. p1:10. p2:20 means: sequence 2: alarm no. 9 will be played 2x, then pause 1s (10*100ms), then message no. 2, pause between sequences 2s.

ATTENTION!

If 0 (zero) is selected as the message number, a sequence with no message and only the alarm and pauses will be created.
